The Fourth Annual Indiana Thoroughbred Alliance (ITA) Stallions and Services Auction will debut for one-day online affair, launching at 9 am EST Monday, December 18, with bidding ending at 4 pm EST the same day. The auction preview will be live December 15-17 on EquiRing.com. The unique auction will feature not only top stallions from Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio, but services and equipment to appeal to not only the Thoroughbred owner and breeder, but every horse owner and enthusiast.
The ITA SSA has raised almost $100,000 since its inception in 2020, with nearly 90% of that money going right back into the Indiana horse racing and horse industry. The proceeds have gone on to fund scholarships, racehorse aftercare, breeder and owner education, the ITA Industry Crisis Fund, as well as promotional efforts for the Indiana Thoroughbred industry.
“The mission of our auction is to bring together the industry to raise money for numerous causes,” says Christine Cagle, the ITA Stallions and Services Auction Chairperson. “We realize there is a need for more assistance in our state when it comes to facilitating education, boosting promotion and lifting the industry.
“Having our auction prior to the holidays is the perfect excuse for some last-minute gift shopping as well as tax deductions prior to the end of the year,” she continues. “This is our one big fundraiser we do, and all of the money goes to a greater good.”
Money from past auctions have made an impact not just within the state of Indiana, but also in the industry:
- Helped to launch a first-of-its-kind retirement program for broodmares in partnership with Friends of Ferdinand called the Broodmare Bunch
- Tri-State Thoroughbred Rehab and Rehoming, Inc.
