Your best chance to get in on one of the most lucrative regional racing programs comes to you on October 15, during the 2022 ITOBA Fall Sale, which will be held at Horseshoe Indianapolis in Shelbyville, Indiana, starting at 1 pm EDT, with a preview night October 14 from 6-8 pm at the Receiving Barn on the backside.
The Indiana Thoroughbred Alliance (ITA) invites potential buyers to take a look at some of the members’ offerings during the sale. Plus, you do not have to be in Shelbyville to bid! New this year is available online bidding, through Willoughby Sales. You can find out more information on online bidding during the 2022 ITOBA Fall Sale: https://wlivestock.com/auction/18197
If you purchase the highest money-earning Indiana-bred or Indiana-sired 2-year-old racing at Horseshoe Indianapolis in 2023, ITOBA will reward the buyer $5,000 at the end of the racing season.
And why should you purchase an Indiana-bred? As part of the Indiana Thoroughbred Breed Development Program, more than $21.4 million was distributed to owners, breeders and stallion owners participating in the program. The stakes program at Horseshoe Indianapolis pays more than $3.4 million in purses. For owners, there is an additional 40 percent in purse money available for Indiana-bred horses that finish first, second or third in eligible open races at Horseshoe Indianapolis.
Below is a list of ITA member horses listed in the sale. For more information, check the ITOBA Fall Sale link or contact the consignors. You can view a gallery of the horses here.
